Meghan Samuels, Speech & Language Pathologist

About Me
Hi, there! I am Meghan. I am the owner of Tiny Talkers and am a certified and licensed speech language pathologist (SLP).
Tiny Talkers is built from my love of working with toddler and preschool-aged children. They are so full of wonder and I love introducing them to new ideas and concepts! I have worked as an SLP for the past eight years and worked in a variety of settings, including private practice and local public schools. As an SLP, I am trained and experienced in developmental speech and language which includes articulation, receptive language, expressive language, preliteracy, vocabulary, social skills, and general communication skills.
Based on my professional experience and life experience as a mom, there is a need for learning and socialization opportunities for children ages 2-4 within our community. Daycare and Parent’s Day Out options are typically where children at this age receive their contact with peers and/or introduction to learning. I created Tiny Talkers to provide children who are home with mom or dad and/or a nanny the chance for structured play, learning opportunities, and access to peers. Small groups allow for increased attention from children to activities and increased ability to give devoted time to each child from the facilitator. Exposure to novel material and vocabulary at a young age makes a difference in children’s language and learning abilities as they enter school.
I have seen children enter kindergarten who were not referred for needed evaluations and interventions at an earlier age. Identifying needs in the early childhood years and addressing through early intervention allows for increased progress and prognosis. Through Tiny Talkers, I hope to assist with directing young children to the services they need.
As a mom of two young children, I have also experienced the need for structured activities during our time at home. I utilize similar activities to the activities used in our playgroups at home with my preschooler. Using these activities within our home increases my son’s exposure to developmentally appropriate skills, allows for independent play opportunities, and provides structure to our days.
I currently provide one-on-one speech therapy for children within their home and/or school. If you have concerns regarding your child’s speech/language development, I’d love to assist you through the evaluation process and navigation of needed services.
Whether you are looking for more social learning opportunities, more in-home opportunities for your child, or one-on-one speech therapy, my hope is that Tiny Talkers will meet your family’s needs.
