About Me

Maggie Klapperich, MS, CCC-SLP, was born and raised in Rapid City. After watching her dad lose his ability to speak at a young age, she become passionate about the field of speech pathology. Upon completion of her bachelor’s at the University of Wyoming in 2008, Maggie received her Master’s degree from the University of Nevada, Reno, School of Medicine in 2010. She decided to return back home to provide services to those in the community she loved. Maggie has worked in a variety of settings, both in the medical field and educational based, which has allowed her to broaden her scope of practice and treat various disorders and delays, involving speech and language, swallowing, voice, and cognitive-linguistics.

Maggie is proud to be the first SLP Member of Apraxia Kids in South Dakota and Wyoming. She is also one of a few South Dakota SLPs to be both PROMPT trained and Hanen certified. She has been a Birth to Three provider since 2013, becoming a Bright Beginnings B-3 provider in 2019. A three-time ASHA ACE Award winner, Maggie has spent her career devoted to delivering evidence-based practices to patients of all ages. Maggie holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is currently licensed in the state of South Dakota.

A mom of three, she understands the importance of entrusting her with your loved one’s communication needs. In 2018 Maggie became the mom of a NICU graduate, giving her a new perspective and passion for working with NICU grads. When not working, Maggie loves trying to keep up with a toddler and being a dance/soccer/basketball mom. She loves rescuing animals, riding, writing, and is contributor for the Today Show Parenting Team.
