Holly Fiala, Occupational Therapist

About Me
Hi! I am an Ohio licensed and Nationally Certified Occupational Therapist, specializing in Pediatrics. I graduated Cum Laude from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Allied Medical Professions in 2003. Over the past 18 years, I have worked in an extensive variety of pediatric settings including in the NICU, hospital-based therapy clinics, home health, early intervention, private outpatient clinics, special-needs preschools, charter schools, and public school districts grades K-12. Because of my experience with children from premature 1-day-old newborns to 21-year-old young adults, I have helped many achieve a wide variety of skills.
Within these diverse pediatric settings, the range of diagnoses I’ve come to know and work with is broad. Some include: Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Sensory Processing Disorder, Developmental Delay, Developmental Coordination Disorder, Cortical Visual Impairment, Prematurity, Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia, Hemiplegia, Hypotonia, Anxiety, Dysgraphia, Learning Disabilities, genetic syndromes, and feeding/oral-motor difficulties. I hold certifications as an Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist, Infant Touch & Massage Instructor, and in the Neonatal Oral-Motor Assessment Scale. I have completed various continuing education trainings in Sensory Integration Therapy, Infant Motor Development, Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT), School Systems, Executive Functioning, Emotional Regulation, Handwriting Without Tears, First Strokes Handwriting, Feeding Aversion & Food Chaining, Zones of Regulation, Brain Gym, Yoga, and more.
Besides being a passionate OT, I am a wife and mother of two beautiful children. I pride myself on bringing a unique perspective to my OT clients’ families because I am a mother to one child with ASD and SPD, and another child with ADHD. One of my own children has received speech and occupational therapy services, so I have both a professional and personal understanding of not only the process of therapy services for your child, but the full experience of raising children outside the typical realm of parenthood.
